Data Protection & Regulatory Compliance Assistant

Description About The Job We are looking for a Data Protection and Regulatory Compliance Assistant to join the Butlin’s Team.  Reporting to the Head of Legal, this role will be responsible for assisting with the legal and regulatory compliance of Butlin's caravan parks by carrying out routine compliance tasks, and assisting the Butlin's DPO with day to day data protection administration, including but not limited to information rights management such as data subject access requests.   This role is essential to ensure that Butlin’s remains lawful and ethical by meeting best practices in respect of compliance standards and data subject rights. You will assist with all data protection requests as well as supporting with data breach investigations and incident management. You will also be the key contact for requests from Butlin’s team and will manage the Butlin’s privacy inbox, responding to all requests accordingly. As well as the above, you will also assist with caravan park compliance, including completing financial conduct and compliance checks for new caravan sales, due diligence checks on new caravan owners, and assisting with FCA related activities. You will also support with litigated claims management, including liaising with external professional partners where required to manage prompt correspondence and claim preparation. This is a new role for Butlin’s so will be very hands on with lots of opportunity to shape the way we do things. About You This opportunity would be suited to someone with prior experience in the management of data protection processes.  You will need excellent attention to detail and organisation skills, as well as the ability to communicate with team and external partners.  Due to the nature of this role, you should be able to demonstrate how you manage confidentiality in your approach, showing the upmost discretion when dealing with processes and issues involving sensitive matters and personal data. Experience working in a brand-centric, consumer-facing business would be beneficial but isn’t essential.
